Nairobi, Kenya – October 6, 2025

The Tujiamini Cheza Dimba powered by SportPesa tournament brought Dandora to life with a dynamic mix of football, music, and community celebration as the Nairobi edition wrapped up in style. Beyond the electrifying matches, the event honoured exceptional individuals whose achievements continue to shape Kenya’s sports and creative scene.

Three outstanding athletes were recognised under the Tujiamini Awards for their excellence in non-football disciplines. Abuga Aroni (Downhill Skateboarding), Francis Ngugi (Cycling), and Ramadhan Odana (Athletics – 10km and 1,500m) each received KES 100,000 to support their sporting journeys and further their personal and professional growth.

The day was filled with excitement both on and off the pitch. Kenyan superstar Fathermoh ignited the halftime break with a lively performance that had fans on their feet, while popular music collective Ndoto Zetu closed the evening with a high-energy show that brought the Dandora crowd to its feet.

Ndoto Zetu, past winners of the Tujiamini 1.0 Gold Award, received KES 500,000 in 2024 to invest in studio equipment that now supports young artists recording and sharing their music. Their return to the Cheza Dimba stage symbolised the full-circle impact of Tujiamini, demonstrating how talent, when supported, can inspire transformation within communities.

“Performing at Cheza Dimba in Dandora felt like coming full circle for us. Tujiamini gave us the belief and the tools to take our dreams seriously. The support we received last year helped us set up a small studio where local artists can record their music. Seeing the same energy and opportunity here for footballers is powerful. It reminds us that when you believe in yourself, anything is possible,” said a Ndoto Zetu group member.

The Cheza Dimba tournament forms the football pillar of the national SportPesa Tujiamini Campaign, which promotes grassroots sports and community talent across Kenya. The platform continues to empower young men and women to showcase their skills, compete with pride, and access long-term mentorship and growth opportunities.

Nairobi also featured the Bronze “Kwa Ground” giveaways, recognising random talented individuals and small businesses within the crowd. These awards celebrate changemakers in sport, arts, media, and enterprise, honouring everyday excellence while strengthening community togetherness and lasting social impact.

As the Nairobi leg concluded, anticipation now builds for the next stop in Homabay, where the Tujiamini Cheza Dimba Nyanza Edition will continue to spotlight emerging talent, celebrate community resilience, and expand SportPesa’s mission to unlock potential through sport and creativity.
