The KBF Division 1 side narrowly lost this weekends match 46-57 to Strathmore.

In the rapidly growing world of basketball in Kenya, Shoot4Life,a Eldoret-based non-profit, was recently named a Tujiamini Gold Award winner, receiving KSh 500,000 in sponsorship from the grassroots sport’s initiative by SportPesa Kenya.

The Tujiamini Gold Award is the top monthly prize given out regionally to support and sponsor sporting organizations, athletes, and talented individuals across Kenya. Shoot4Life's innovative programming using basketball as a tool for youth empowerment resonated strongly with the objectives of the Tujiamini Initiative.

This weekends results saw Shoot4Life losing out to Strathmore in a tightly contested match. The side were on a roll with recent wins over NEOSASA and NBK Phoenix.

The North Rift team now face an uphill battle to win 2 of their last 3 matches to secure a place in the finals. The Basketball team will face JKUAT, Snipers and the Coastal Kings, with the last two sides both taking the win over Shoot4Life on their previous encounter.

Speaking on the upcoming fixtures Assistant Coach Emmanuel Omwisikwa said “These last few games we are excited to test ourselves and prepare as best we can, to become the best you need to beat the best”.

The coach also highlighted the talents of players Stephen Mungai, Collins Kotut and Bryson Kibiwot. The trio will need to be at their best to help their side reach their goal and qualify for the KBF Premier League.

Shoot4Life was founded with the mission of keeping Kenyan youth away from negative influences by engaging them through basketball training, life-skills education, academic support, and income-generating activities. What started with just a handful of students has blossomed into serving hundreds of boys and girls annually.

With the KSh 500,000 award, Shoot4Life plans to honor away fixtures, with the sponsorship funds being used to facilitate transport and accommodation.

The Tujiamini initiative by SportPesa Kenya was launched to provide critical funding and resources for sports development at all levels across the country.
